Long cardigan with tie belt, mohair cardigan

This hand-knitted cardigan is a unique one-of-a-kind piece, made according to my own design and ready to ship immediately. The lightweight, long cardigan in a block pattern combines the colours beige, mint and rust and adds an elegant touch to any outfit.

Versatile fit for different sizes

I specified the cardigan in size L, but it certainly fits other sizes depending on body shape and fit preference. If you are unsure, please feel free to write to me. My model is 168 cm tall and wears size M/L (in the pictures she wears very high shoes).

Here are the measurements (all measured horizontally and approximately):

• Body: 60 cm wide, 76 cm long
• Sleeves: 24 cm wide, 40 cm long
• Neckline: 5 cm wide at the nape of the neck, the two front parts close at about 25 cm

Knitwear tends to get a little bigger when worn and/or washed. I let the cardigan hang out for a day before measuring.

Comfortable and stylish design

The body has an angular cut, the shoulders sag and the sleeves are wide. Along the collar I knitted a few stitches in garter stitch, and the front pieces are knitted overlapping. Knitted with a needle size of 12 mm, the stitch structure is loose and has a soft drape. The cardigan comes with a matching tie belt (knitted as an I-cord). I like to add a large safety pin in black/silver or gold, with which you can loosely close the cardigan.

High-quality and sustainable materials

The yarn is a blend of 30% mohair, 20% wool and 50% acrylic, which I bought second hand. It is a rather fine yarn, so I knitted 8 threads together. The block pattern is of different widths: light beige at the top, then mint and rust at the bottom. For the sleeves and the tie belt I mixed the three colors. Unfortunately, the yarn is not cuddly soft and cannot be worn on bare skin by very sensitive people. It loses hair, but only a few.

This cardigan is an exclusive garment that embodies slow fashion instead of fast fashion – sustainable and made to last for many years. Please keep it lying down, as it wears out on a hanger. I include enough repair wool so you can repair it in case of damage.
