Mohair cardigan, hand-knitted unique piece

Perfect fit and measurements

This beautiful cardigan in raglan cut was also hand-knitted by me and is a unique piece. So the Cardi is finished and ready to ship. I specified the cardigan with an M size. But it certainly fits other sizes, depending on body shape and fit preference. If you are unsure, feel free to write to me.

Dimensions (all measured horizontally and only approximate):

• Body: 63 cm long, 60 cm wide
• Raglan bevel: 36 cm long
• Collar: 4 cm high (as well as all other cuffs)
• Arms from collar: 64 cm long, 28 cm wide
• Neckline: 24 cm deep

The jacket is of course a little longer when worn and will also hang out a bit.

Material and special features

I knitted a thread of thick mohair wool with an NS8. The knit is light and voluminous. I used a mottled yarn for the body. I knitted the arms with two thinner threads of the same yarn. Always short pieces of different colors to imitate the "melange" effect. The transitions are not knotted, but overlapped, so that the ends of the thread stick out here and there (but if you don't think it's as cool as I do, you can easily pull them inwards).

The raglan slope is deep and the arms are very wide. Body and arms end with a tighter cuff, but I knitted it in garter stitch. The neckline is also frizzy. The jacket has no knitted collar, I knitted some stitches in garter at the edge.

The jacket is actually worn open, but can be brought to figure with a belt. I am happy to include a large safety pin with which the jacket can be loosely closed. (I have silver, gold, and black – please tell me which ones you'd like.) I think you could also retrofit buttons (they would just have to fit through the stitches).

Colours and material

The colors of the yarns used: The mottled thick yarn is from red to wine red to light gray. The threads for the arms are wine red, red, white and grey.

On the pictures I took outside, the cardigan looks very burgundy. The color is also in it as described, but the overall picture is rather reddish. In the video and the detail shots correspond to the overall picture.

The wool is made of 80% kid mohair and 20% acrylic. The wool is super fluffy, but not really soft. Skin-sensitive people cannot wear the jacket on bare skin. But I have already sold some knitted pieces made of this wool and have not yet received any complaints (even sweaters).

As usual, I bought the wool second-hand. It is a yarn made in France (Berger du Nord). I add repair wool in case something needs to be repaired. I made this garment in many hours and with a lot of joy, made a slow fashion product to enjoy it for a long time.
