Colourful, hand-knitted cardigan made from second-hand yarns – A statement for slow fashion

This colourful, hand-knitted cardigan is more than just a fashion accessory – it embodies true slow fashion and sustainability. Made with love from mohair yarns and leftovers from other projects, this cardigan is made entirely of second-hand yarns, making it a unique, eco-friendly garment.

Design and style

The "leftover knitting" technique gives the design a distinctive, slightly chaotic look - perfect for lovers of the grunge style. With its loose stitches and vibrant colors, the cardigan is ideal for those looking for an individual and alternative outfit. Each piece is unique that is created through sustainable handicraft - so you are not only wearing an extraordinary garment, but also making a statement for a more conscious fashion world.

The color transitions are knotted, and the small fringes are part of the design. If they bother you, you can just pull them inside.

Perfect fit and measurements

The indicated size is L, but due to the boxy cut, the cardigan also fits other sizes, depending on body shape and fit preference. My model is 168 cm tall and wears M/L.

Dimensions (all measured horizontally and only approximate):

• Body width: approx. 63 cm
• Body length: approx. 56 cm
• Sleeve length: approx. 44 cm
• Sleeve width: approx. 22 cm
• Neckline (neck): approx. 2 cm

Material and Care

The cardigan was knitted with a thick needle (20 mm) loosely in a frizzy pattern. The boxy body and wide-cut sleeves create a casual look, while the snug cuffs add structure to the body and sleeves. The neckline was crocheted off to preserve its shape. The colors range from subtle tones such as white and black to bright neon colors.

The material used loses some hair, which I would like to mention explicitly. Please note: Knitwear expands slightly over time and after washing as it becomes softer.

The cardigan comes with sufficient repair wool. To avoid wearing out, please store the cardigan lying down.

Care Wash the cardigan by hand in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Then you can spin it at 1000 rpm in the washing machine and then let it dry flat.

Carrying options and accessories

This cardigan is best worn open, but I like to include a clasp with which you can close it. You can choose between silver, gold or black – feel free to write me which color you prefer!
