Product and Service Offers

FriendsFair offers locally handmade goods, local services, and offline workshops. We see FriendsFair as an inclusive marketplace and therefore invite sellers from diverse cultural backgrounds and languages to sell with us.

Our sellers must be based in Germany and offer handmade goods, offline services, and offline workshops. Individuals, freelance professionals, or micro-organizations according to the EU definition, such as small businesses or startups, can be sellers. There are 3 seller categories at FriendsFair:

  • Hobby Expert, suitable for anyone interested in offering their own handmade goods, services, or workshops – or all together
  • Professional – for professionals with official qualifications or those who offer their expertise as the main part of their income
  • Small Business – Micro-enterprises according to EU definition and startups

FriendsFair invites sellers who offer handmade items and workshops, as well as services in certain languages, to become part of our seller community. It is very important to us to reconnect people in Germany with their culture, but also to offer everyone the opportunity to learn more about other cultures.

Customization depends on the seller and the product. Some customization options are available on the product page (for example, personal names), and you can leave details in the comments section at checkout.

FriendsFair allows sellers to offer any local offline workshops, except for topics expressly prohibited by the terms and conditions. Whether candle making, traditional meditation workshops, Slavic cooking workshops, or regular knitting workshops for people over 50 – every direction in any language is welcome.

FriendsFair welcomes locally handmade goods. As we understand that the smallest shops need a wider variety of goods to survive, we offer flexibility for those who partially produce in other European countries or source raw materials from other countries. Most importantly, your business should be dominated by locally handmade products. Examples include:

  • Your coffee is produced in Africa and roasted and packaged in Hamburg – YES
  • Your muffins are made in Berlin and your gin is handcrafted in Portugal – YES
  • Your diet honey is made in small batches in a small German factory - YES
  • Your tables are produced in Poland and sold in Germany – NO
  • Your plates are produced in Thailand and packaged in Germany – NO

FriendsFair allows sellers to offer any local offline workshops, except for topics expressly prohibited by the terms and conditions. Our booking tool should be used by sellers when they offer specific services through FriendsFair. As with workshops, all services can be offered in one or more languages at the seller's location.

Simply send us a message with the subject "New Category Request" and a brief explanation of what you would like to offer and why this category should be added, and our team will get in touch with you.

Information and Registration for Sellers

FriendsFair welcomes talents, artisans, and entrepreneurs from all walks of life. We make no distinction or discriminate against our sellers based on their level of experience, gender, religious beliefs, nationality, race, or any other important aspect of their lives. We are an apolitical marketplace and do not follow any exclusion policy regarding the mentioned aspects. Simply put: You are all welcome with us.

FriendsFair is the first marketplace in Germany that simultaneously connects cultural exchange, diversity, inclusivity, and the local economy. We believe that we all living in Germany can learn a lot from each other, enjoy the culture of the other, and work towards a better future.

You can register as a seller on FriendsFair by clicking on the “Become a seller” option on our website and following the registration process. Your application will be reviewed by our team shortly.

FriendsFair enables many sellers with different levels of experience and a tremendous diversity on the platforms to sell. But with great freedom comes great responsibility: Each of our sellers is individually responsible for delivering to you on time and in quality. Therefore, we recommend you to contact the seller directly in case of any issues.

Platform Features and Policies

Yes, there is a special cooperation program for NGOs. If you qualify as a micro-organization and NGO, you are cordially invited to apply for the NGO plan and benefit from more visibility and personalization. Check out our “Friend in Need” program. If you are a representative of a larger NGO, feel free to contact us directly by email. Please note that we do not enter into partnerships with organizations that discriminate against a nation, a group of people, or a culture while helping others, as this does not align with our vision of an inclusive society.

We take your privacy seriously and treat your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. You can unsubscribe from our mailing lists at any time and request the deletion of your data from our database. We do not sell your data to third parties and use it, if allowed, to offer you the most suitable products on our marketplace and similar, so that you can have the best experience with FriendsFair.

FriendsFair works with Stripe, which accepts various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and other popular payment options. Stripe is one of the world's strongest and most secure payment partners, offering our customers, both sellers and buyers, a wide range of payment methods, a nice user interface, and a high level of transaction security.

Delivery Options

Delivery by the seller: This option is available for certain items within the seller's city. It provides a personal touch and ensures safe handling of your purchase.

Pickup by the buyer: You can choose to pick up your purchase directly from the seller at no additional cost. This method is ideal for local transactions and offers the chance for direct interaction with the seller.

Delivery by usual postal services: Standard shipping is available through recognized postal services. This option is suitable for shipping over longer distances and includes shipment tracking for your convenience.

Simply contact the seller to see if delivery is possible. If so, please choose the delivery option to the large city nearby and enter your address in the address form.

Your Orders and Returns

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a shipment tracking number. You can use this number to track the delivery status of your order.

If you receive a damaged product, please contact the seller immediately to report the issue and discuss a solution, such as a replacement or a refund. We recommend keeping pictures/videos of the respective goods until the refund is received.

After receiving your order, you can leave a review on the product page. This helps other customers and provides our sellers with valuable feedback.

If you wish to return an item, please contact the seller through your FriendsFair account to initiate the return process. Once the return has been approved, you will receive instructions based on the seller's location and the type of item. Typically, the buyer bears the cost of the return, unless the item is defective or not as described. After the seller has received and inspected the returned item, your refund will be processed.

FriendsFair offers a 14-day return period for standard goods. However, we ask you not to order a large selection of goods for choice – unlike on large platforms, our sellers depend on each individual sale, and they lose the payment provider fee each time you cancel your purchase.

Personalized goods made to your specific requirements are excluded from the standard return policy. According to German consumer law, personalized items cannot be returned unless they are defective or not as described.

For services booked through FriendsFair, cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service receive a full refund. Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service time are not refundable.
