Question: What types of products does FriendsFair offer?

FriendsFair offers locally home-made goods, local services, and offline workshops. We see FriendsFair as an inclusive marketplace and therefore invite sellers from different cultural backgrounds and languages to sell with us.



Question: Who can sell on FriendsFair?

Our sellers must be based in Germany and offer self-made goods, offline services and offline workshops. They can be private individuals, freelancers or micro-organisations as defined by the EU, such as small businesses or start-ups. There are 3 categories of sellers at FriendsFair:



Hobby expert, suitable for anyone interested in offering their own homemade goods, services or workshops – or all of the above
Professional – for professionals with official qualifications or those who offer their expertise as the main part of their income
Small business – micro-enterprises as defined by the EU and start-ups


Question: Can I find traditional and cultural items at FriendsFair?

FriendsFair invites sellers who offer homemade items and workshops as well as services in specific languages to become part of our community of sellers. It is very important to us to reconnect people in Germany with their culture, but also to offer everyone the opportunity to learn more about other cultures.



Question: Can I customize a product ordered on FriendsFair?

The customization depends on the seller and the product. Some customization options are available on the product page (for example, personal names), and you can leave details in the comments section when checking out.



Question: What types of workshops does FriendsFair offer?

FriendsFair allows sellers to offer any local offline workshops, except for topics that are expressly prohibited by the Terms and Conditions. Whether it's candle making, traditional meditation workshops, Slavic cooking workshops or regular knitting workshops for over-50s – any direction in any language is welcome.



Question: What goods can be sold at FriendsFair?

FriendsFair welcomes locally home-made goods. Because we know that the smallest stores need a greater variety of goods to survive, we offer flexibility for those who produce partly in other European countries or source raw materials from other countries. Most importantly, your business will be predominantly dominated by locally homemade products. Examples include:



Your coffee is produced in Africa and roasted and packaged in Hamburg – YES
Your muffins are made in Berlin and your gin is handmade in Portugal – YES
Your diet honey is produced in small batches in a small German factory - YES
Your tables are produced in Poland and sold in Germany – NO
Your plates are produced in Thailand and packaged in Germany – NO


Question: What services can be offered on FriendsFair?

FriendsFair allows sellers to offer any local offline workshops, except for topics that are expressly prohibited by the Terms and Conditions. Our booking tool should be used by sellers when offering specific services through FriendsFair. As with workshops, all services can be offered in one or more languages at the sellers' location.



Question: What if I can't find my category in the selection of services/goods/workshops?

Just drop us a line with the subject "New Category Request" and a brief explanation of what you want to offer and why this category should be added, and our team will be in touch.

Question: How does FriendsFair ensure inclusivity and diversity?

FriendsFair welcomes talents, craftsmen and entrepreneurs from all backgrounds. We do not differentiate or discriminate against our sellers based on their level of experience, gender, religious beliefs, nationality, race, or any other important aspect of their lives. We are a non-political marketplace and do not follow any exclusion policy with regard to the aforementioned aspects. Simply put, you are all welcome here.



Question: What makes FriendsFair different from other online marketplaces?

FriendsFair is the first marketplace in Germany that simultaneously combines cultural exchange, diversity, inclusivity and the local economy. We believe that all of us who live in Germany can learn a lot from each other, enjoy each other's culture and work towards a better future.



Question: How can I become a seller on FriendsFair?

You can register as a seller on FriendsFair by clicking on the "Become a Seller" option on our website and following the registration process. Your application will be reviewed by our team shortly.



Question: Who is responsible for the products, workshops and services at FriendsFair?

FriendsFair allows many sellers with different levels of experience and an enormous variety to sell on the platforms. But with great freedom comes great responsibility: Each of our salespeople is individually responsible for delivering to you on time and in quality. Therefore, we recommend that you contact the seller directly if you encounter any problems.



Question: How can I contact a seller on FriendsFair?

You can contact a seller directly from the product list or via the "Contact Us" option in the seller profile.



Platform Features and Policies
Question: Are there special programs for NGOs on FriendsFair?

Yes, there is a special cooperation program for NGOs. If you are qualified as a micro-organization and NGO, you are welcome to apply for the NGO plan and benefit from increased visibility and personalization. Check out our "Friend in Need" program. If you are a representative of a larger NGO, please feel free to contact us directly by email. Please note that we do not partner with organizations that discriminate against one nation, group of people, or culture while helping others, as this is not in line with our vision of an inclusive society.



Question: How does FriendsFair handle my personal information?

We take your privacy seriously and treat your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. You can unsubscribe from our mailing lists at any time and request the deletion of your data from our database. We do not sell your data to third parties and use it when allowed to offer you the most suitable products on our marketplace and the like so that you can have the best experience with FriendsFair.



Question: What payment methods are accepted on FriendsFair?

FriendsFair works with Stripe, which accepts various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and other popular payment options. Stripe is one of the world's strongest and most secure payment partners, offering our customers, both sellers and buyers, a wide range of payment methods, a beautiful user interface, and a high level of transaction security.



Delivery options
Question: What delivery methods are available on FriendsFair?

Seller delivery: This option is available for certain items within the seller's city. It offers a personal touch and ensures safe handling of your purchase.


Pickup by the buyer: You can choose to pick up your purchase directly from the seller at no additional cost. This method is ideal for local transactions and offers the possibility of direct interaction with the seller.


Delivery through standard postal services: Standard delivery is available through approved postal services. This option is suitable for shipping over longer distances and includes tracking for your convenience.



Question: A salesperson offers "delivery by the seller" in a large city next to me, and I live in a small town nearby. Can the seller make an exception and deliver to my location?

Just contact the seller to see if delivery is possible. If so, feel free to choose the delivery option to the big city nearby and provide your address in the address form.



Your orders and returns
Question: How can I track my order on FriendsFair?

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a tracking number. You can use this number to track the delivery status of your order.



Question: What should I do if I receive a damaged product?

If you receive a damaged product, please contact the seller immediately to report the problem and discuss a solution, such as a replacement or refund. We recommend that you keep pictures/videos of the respective goods until you receive the refund.



Question: How can I leave a review for a purchased product?

After you receive your order, you can leave a review on the product page. This helps other customers and provides valuable feedback to our sellers.



Question: How does the return process work on FriendsFair?

If you wish to return an item, please contact the seller through your FriendsFair account to initiate the return process. Once the return is approved, you will receive instructions based on the seller's location and the type of item. Typically, the buyer is responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the item is defective or not as described. After the seller receives the returned item and checks its condition, your refund will be processed.



Question: Can I return a product purchased on FriendsFair?

FriendsFair offers a 14-day return period for standard goods. However, we ask that you do not order a wide range of goods to choose from – unlike on major platforms, our sellers are dependent on each individual sale, and they will lose the payment provider fee every time you cancel your purchase.



Question: Can I return personalized merchandise, such as a t-shirt with my name on it?

Personalized goods made to your specific requirements are excluded from the standard return policy. According to German consumer law, personalized items cannot be returned unless they are defective or do not match the description.



Question: How does the cancellation policy work for services booked on FriendsFair?

For services booked through FriendsFair, cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service will receive a full refund. Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service time are non-refundable.
